How to shop at CVS
CVS has a similar program to Walgreens. It is much easier, but it also has strict limitations. CVS has a something called Extra Care Bucks (ECB). These print out after you buy qualifying items and can be used like cash on your next purchase with CVS. In order to receive ECB’s you must first sign up for the Extra Care card. You can ask the cashier for this. It only takes a few seconds to fill out your name and address. Then you will get your card right on the spot.
Look in the CVS ad circular to see what products will generate an ECB. Also look under the product and in small print you should see a limit to how many you can buy to earn ECB’s. With CVS you can usually only earn one or two ECB’s per product per week. The good thing is that CVS does not have the same policy as Walgreens when it comes to the number of coupons you can use. At CVS you can use more coupons than you have products. This is great because you will not need to spend any extra items on fillers.
VERY important to hand the cashier your CVS Extra Care card BEFORE letting them ring up any items. This ensures that you will get the sale prices and that you will get your ECB’s at the end of the transaction.
You can also “roll” ECB’s like you would RR’s. Use your ECB’s on other items that will earn you the same exact amount (or close to it) back in ECB’s.
This will earn TONS of free items each and every week!
*CVS has a coupon/price check machine in the front of the store. Scan your card as soon as you walk in to see what coupons you will get!
