How to get started!

Getting Started: Collecting & Sorting Coupons

Couponing can be a bit overwhelming at first so take your time with it. Your first step will be to collect coupons. There are many different ways to obtain coupons. The most common way is to buy a Sunday newspaper. The Sunday paper offers a great range of couons. There are usually 2 coupon inserts in every Sunday paper: the Smart Source (SS) and the Red Plum (RP). Coupons in these inserts vary by region. If you have access to a newspaper from a
larger city, you might want to buy that paper as well or instead. The larger the city is, the better the coupons are!

Other ways to obtain coupons:
·       You can find coupons in many magazines. The most popular one for coupons is the “All You” magazine.
·       You can request coupon booklets: organizeinstyle.com and p&ghomesolutions.com
·       You can call the manufacture and request coupons or visit their website to find current promotions.
·       Companies sometimes offer coupons on their Facebook pages.
·       You can buy coupons from thecouponclippers you can buy them on Ebay.
·       There are also programs for you to download coupons to your cell phone such as: Target's Cell Phone Coupons

·       You can also print coupons from online coupon websites:
·       coupons.com
·       redplum.com
·       homesolutions.com
·       smartsource.com

*Organizing & Sorting Your Coupons!

There are several ways to organize your coupons. When first starting out you should use a simple form of organizing. Two great options are a white envelope or a check file. Both are great ways to get started; however the check file has a slight advantage over the envelope. This is because with the check file you can sort your coupons into categories. After you get into couponing more you’ll find that you’ll need something much larger to store and sort your coupons in.

My favorite option for this is the coupon binder. Later I’ll show you how this works and you can set up your own coupon binder.
